Disney Cruise Line Group Cruises

If you’re sailing with a large party on your vacation – whether a family reunion, business trip, or simply gathering friends together – then you might want to consider booking a group cruise rather than having everyone book separation reservations. Group cruises onboard Disney Cruise Line and other cruise lines as well can offer incentives to booking as a group or joining an existing group cruise. Keep reading for more information on group cruises with Disney Cruise Line, how to book a group cruise, and much more!
What defines a group cruise for Disney Cruise Line?
Disney Cruise Line requires a minimum of 14 staterooms travel together. They also require a contract binding you to book a minimum number of staterooms. Most other cruise lines consider a group at 8 staterooms or more and many do not require a contract, so definitely talk through your group’s priorities, budget, and interests with your Travel Advisor before booking to ensure you’ll be sailing on the cruise line that is best for your group.
How do I book a group Disney Cruise?
Reach out to a Travel Advisor, of course! Groups have different terms and rules, so it is important to work with someone familiar with the ins and outs of the requirements, deadlines, deposit rules, final payment dates, cancellation terms, and all the benefits. With so many parties involved, you don’t want to miss something and risk impacting travel for so many. Plus, our Recommended Travel Agents’ planning services are totally free for you to use! Disney Cruise Line does require a contract and a 25% deposit. Other cruise lines may have more flexible terms.
What are the benefits to a group cruise vs. booking individual rooms?
If you are traveling with a group, you may receive discounted rates and other perks like complimentary staterooms and a cocktail party for your group. Group rates are locked in for everyone in the group. When you book a group, you can more easily coordinate group dining, special events and shore excursions. If everyone has a separate reservation, it makes it more difficult to coordinate. We also recommend booking your group cruises as far in advance as possible, so your group has the best choice for staterooms, dining times, and more.
How many people do I need for a group cruise?
Disney Cruise Line now requires 14 staterooms traveling together, but there is no requirement for the type of stateroom (inside, oceanview, verandah, suite, or concierge) or number of guests per stateroom. Most other cruise lines require 8 staterooms regardless of the number of passengers in each group. If you’re not sure which staterooms are best for your party, then schedule a call with one of our Recommended Travel Agents today for a customized recommendation.
Do we have any special perks when sailing on a group cruise?
Yes! Disney Cruise Line offers perks like a complimentary cocktail party for your group. Other cruise lines have a range of options for the group including onboard credits, special treats for each stateroom, or private cocktail parties.
What are the rates for a group Disney Cruise? Are there group discounts?
Group rates will vary based on the ship and time of year. DCL does offer group discounts on many sailings, so reach out to your Travel Advisor to start planning today!
Interested in joining an existing group Disney Cruise?
If you want to join a group cruise, but don’t want to do all the planning yourself or maybe just want to see what group cruises all are about before planning one for your party, then you are invited to join us on two existing group cruises with Disney Cruise Line! Even if you don’t know anyone else going or what these groups are all about, you can still join the group sailing to take advantage of the perks. The extra activities these groups do are completely optional, so you can make new friends or keep to yourself – whatever best suits your vacation.
