Adult Cruising Experience on Disney Cruise Line
When you think of taking a Disney Cruise Line cruise, most often you will immediately think family fun! However, my husband and I just returned from a three night Disney Cruise Line cruise on the Disney Dream, just the two of us, and we had the time of our lives. Disney Cruise Line has made it possible for adults to enjoy their time onboard in wonderfully serene adult only areas of the ship – and we took full advantage!
The night that we boarded the beautiful Disney Dream, we chose to skip our dinner rotation and instead dine in Palo. For those who are unfamiliar, Palo is an adult only (18+) restaurant that serves fine Italian dining cuisine from a vantage atop the ship with spectacular ocean views. Note, there is an additional cost for this dining experience, but we felt this investment was well worth it.
On this particular evening, we chose to take advantage of the prefix meal and enjoyed one choice each from the appetizer, salad, entree and dessert selections. Our food was wonderful, the service spectacular and the wine we selected was a perfect pairing to the meal. We would always recommend this experience to our adult cruising friends.
On this particular sailing, we did not get off the ship in Nassau, and instead enjoyed our time on the adult only decks on the Disney Dream! Decks 12 and 13 near the front of the ship allow adults (18+) to relax and enjoy the sun and even an adult beverage. Spaces such as “Satellite Falls” and “The Cove Pool” allow adults to relax and unwind away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the ship. There are plenty of chairs and space for you to lay in the sun, read a book, or take a well deserved nap.
If you wish, you can enjoy an adult beverage at the adult only bars in these areas of the ship, Currents and Cove Bar. At night we enjoyed the fireworks from the seating area near Currents. It is a little known space that has excellent views of the fireworks and allows you to sit back and enjoy. After the fireworks we headed down to the District and played trivia at the 687 Bar and then listened to music at the Central District Bar – also 18+ at this time of night.
On Castaway Cay we got off the ship as early as we could to take the trams to Serenity Bay. Just two quick tram rides and we were at the adult only beach. With plenty of chairs, a beautiful view and nothing but the sounds of the waves.
While there I took advantage of the yoga on the beach. What could be better than finding your Zen while in paradise? For lunch we enjoyed the fabulous BBQ just steps away from the beach. Serenity Bay allowed us to just kickback in our chairs, put our feet in the sand and enjoy.
Of course, we could have also taken advantage of the many wonderful spa related experiences. Senses Spa and Salon onboard Disney Cruise Line ships offers a true sanctuary for your senses – and an opportunity to relax and recharge – in yet another adult only venue.
Our adult only Disney Cruise Line cruise aboard the Disney Dream was one of the most relaxing trips we have been able to take in a long time.
